What you need

  • Matching A4 or US Letter paper, 80-100 gsm (prototype assumption)
  • Ruler, scissors and clear tape
  • A small amount of clean tissue; keep filling out of the seams

Follow the steps

1. Choose one matching pair

Choose Orbit Mix or Sunny Mix. Use that design's FRONT and BACK pages. Print at 100% / Actual Size with Fit to Page off. Measure both 50 mm lines; correct the settings if either differs by more than 1 mm.

2. Cut two panels

Cut only the solid outside rectangle on each page. Keep A at the top and B at the bottom. The dashed inner rectangle marks the 6 mm sealing band: do not cut or fold it. Use help with scissors where needed.

3. Put blank faces together

Turn the BACK panel so its blank side meets the FRONT panel's blank side. Both prints face out. Match A to A at the top and B to B at the bottom. Slide the front panel over the blank side of the back panel; keep both upright.

4. Tape the perimeter; leave A open

Wrap short strips of clear tape around both paper edges, with about 6 mm on each printed face. Tape the sides, bottom and top shoulders. Leave only the marked 20 mm opening at A. Overlap adjacent strips slightly.

5. Fill through the top opening

Feed small, loose pieces of clean tissue through A. Start with less filling than you expect to need. Keep the sealing band flat and free of filling. The close-up shows the same top opening enlarged, not an extra part.

6. Close the last 20 mm

Bring the two top edges together at A and wrap tape across the last opening. Check both faces and every seam. Press lightly and record any tearing, leaking or flattening. Finished thickness and recovery depend on the actual materials.

If something is not working

The two panels do not match

Check that the part names, version and paper size match. Verify both 50 mm lines, then match A at the top and B at the bottom. Do not trim one panel to hide a mismatch.

The corner or neck will not close

Keep the filling away from the seam and use shorter tape strips. If the 6 mm sealing band cannot be used, stop and record the exact corner for a geometry revision.

The paper tears or stays flattened

Record the paper and filling amount, then photograph the failure. This prototype has no tested recovery behavior.
