Infinity cubes: check the hinges before choosing a texture

Understand linked-block folding and the information a surface finish does not supply.

What are you trying to decide?

Mechanism

The named Grey Duck Labs model is described as eight linked cubes. Its changing shape is different from the individual controls on a six-face Fidget Cube.

Next: Compare with the Fidget Cube control map if the names are confusing.

Surface

A texture description concerns the exterior. It does not establish hinge clearance, folding force or durability.

Next: Record the exact texture but leave unreported mechanical fields unknown.

A stuck fold

Do not force an unfamiliar hinge path. This review has no verified repair or force limit for the model.

Next: Use the maker’s instructions or support for the exact object.

Follow the joints, not a familiar silhouette

Two objects can look like a cube while moving in entirely different ways. A linked-block mechanism needs room for the blocks to move. A picture of the closed shape cannot establish the motion path or the space needed around it.

A texture choice is only one field

Keep surface preference separate from construction and hinge behavior. We have not compared the textures in hand, and a product option name is not a measured grip or comfort result.

Making one is a separate project

A commercial model listing is not a reusable build license. We do not provide a copied model or promise that a paper prototype behaves like this object. Any future build page needs its own files, permission record and physical acceptance.
